Apology To Dr. Claire Noone, Director Consumer Affairs Victoria

In September 2010, Peter Mericka, director of Lawyers Real Estate Pty Ltd ('LRE'), published an article entitled 'Consumer Affairs Victoria - the Reason We Need a Corruption Commission ' ('the article' ) on this website. In the article , Mr Mericka states that Dr Noone is a 'disgrace ', has pursued Mr Mericka and LRE 'for corrupt self-interest' and has displayed a 'corrupt charade'. These statements were republished in various correspondence, emails and a blog conducted by Mr Mericka. Mr Mericka accepts that the statements made about Dr Noone are untrue and unconditionally retracts the statements made. Mr Mericka sincerely apologises to Dr. Noone and her colleagues for any hurt or embarrassment caused.





Apology To Stephen Devlin, General Counsel, Consumer Affairs Victoria

In September 2010, Peter Mericka, director of Lawyers Real Estate Pty Ltd ('LRE'), published an article entitled 'Consumer Affairs Victoria - the Reason We Need a Corruption Commission'. ('the article') on this website. In the article, Mr Mericka states that Mr Devlin's legal advice 'does not stand up to scrutiny, and quality control in the Legal Development Branch appears to be seriously lacking'. This statement was republished in correspondence , emails and a blog conducted by Mr Mericka. Mr Mericka accepts that the statement made about Mr Devlin is untrue and unconditionally retracts the statement made. Mr Mericka sincerely apologises to Mr Devlin and his colleagues for any hurt or embarrassment caused.

Book Exposes Real World Of Real Estate

I was watching "First Tuesday Book Club" on ABC TV a few months ago, and I saw the host, Jennifer Byrne hold up a copy of Brendan Gullifer's book SOLD. According to Byrne, "I thought it was tremendous fun. And let me tell you, you've met these people. They probably sold your house." Having read SOLD, I can confirm that the characters and behaviours portrayed in the book are true to life.
